Bless the LORD, my soul;
and do not forget all his gifts. (Psalm
103:2)
On the Sunday of Holy Trinity we could celebrate a very special occasion in our monastery: Sr. M. Vinzentia had her profession vow 25 years ago and our former Superior Sister M. Xaveria had it exactly 65 years ago, also on the Sunday of the Holy Trinity. With many guests, including Superior General Sr. M. Juliana with some other sisters from our Motherhouse Monastery, the family of Sr. M. Vinzentia from Romania and the cousin of Sr. M. Xaveria from Hamburg, this anniversary of our two sisters became a wonderful feast of gratitude and joy over so many years in the ministry of Jesus Christ in our Congregation.
After the congratulations for the two jubilarians at lunchtime we
celebrated the solemn Holy Mass in the afternoon with many religious brothers
and sisters from Jerusalem led by Abbot Bernhard Maria Alter OSB of Zion. Fr.
Elilas Pfiffi OSB told in his homily about the Holy Trinity and the life in a religious
congregation and compared it with a dance – between the three persons of the
Holy Trinity and between the single sister and the religious congregation,
guided by the Lord. When both sisters solemnly renewed their vows, it was for
all a very emotional moment.
The following dinner and barbecue in our garden was also very festive occasion. And the guests could listen to some anecdotes about the fulfilled life of our two sisters. We wish them for their future years in our congregation:
Ad multos annos ad maiorem gloriam Dei!
